Welcome to UK Homegrown, a music company established in 2005 with the aim of bringing to the forefront British music.Based at Tower Bridge Business Complex (London England) containing 27 studios with a client history of successful and internationally acclaimed professionals in the music industry, from award winning rap artist Dizzie Rascal to Grammy nominee 2007 Imogen Heap, songwriters such as Cathy Dennis, Don Black, guitar legend Jeff Beck, Alison Moyet, Shakin Stevens, The Cure, Jemelia, the late Kirsty MacColl, Alabama 3.Rob Rawlingson set up the complex in 1998 after realising there was a real need for small units in which musicians could write, record and produce rather than just rehearse.Consisting of a fully operative recording facilities we call ukhomegrownmusic studio, all genres of music is made from, Hip Hop to hardcore Ragga and Grime causing the studio popularity and reputation to steadily grow.To date artists such as Lloyd Brown, Peter Spence, Tippa Irie and Patrick Johnson are some of the first artists to have recorded in the studio, many more have followed such as Mavrik, Trilla Jena, Ras Degus and more recently members from Jah Youth Sound system have completed material with us and Junior (Police & Thieves) Murvin was interviewed for broadcasting on Galaxy Radio based in London England.Work continues in the studio with two of England’s foundation producer and recording engineer, Dennis Cross and Gary (Digi) Lewis, (Digi Tec) who had set a standard of British reggae music most reggae artists during 70’s & 80’s had worked with such as Sandra Cross, Winston Reedy, Horseman to name a few. UK Homegrown aim is to be the step before you’ve made it.By becoming wholly affiliated to Red skin Records Ltd, the first Major Digital Record Label designed for a global market in the 21st century,Red Skin Records top boss Owen Smith C, E, O states, “I believe this deal will benefit the raw talent in the London based and wider community. Providing young talent with a real opportunity to get their music professionally produced with a chance of getting their music released with Red Skin Records. This affiliation deal is not just good for new artists it will be good for both companies and ultimately the music buying public. We are all very excited about our future working together.†The worlds First Major Digital Record Label can now provide artists with a direct path to progress their musical careers for release. Our association with UK Homegrown allows us to reach out to the community and concentrate on developing new talent for release on Red Skin Records.
Working in partnership with Red Skin Records, UK Homegrown would be seen as a feeder of artist to Red Skin Records Ltd screening and recording artists prior to being signed by Red Skin Records.“It is exciting times for us all, many artists currently around us have a goal which can now be achieved. However much work remains to be done and some artist may not as yet be ready to be put forward for signing to Red Skin Records. UK Homegrown may continue to work with artist and releasing material on our own label.
