About Me

Jessica Stuart was born into a musical family in Vancouver, BC. On top of the regular range of music lessons, she had voice training in choirs and small ensembles. Jessica picked up the guitar in high school, started writing music and co-founded her first gigging band, heavy/punk/alternative group, 'RUNT'. A year in Israel after graduating provided countless performing opportunities including with Israeli indie rock/pop band 'SUGARLAND.' Shortly thereafter, she relocated to BC and helped create Victoria's 'MAS', a live hip-hop/rock/jazz/reggae/funk dance band with 5 core members, but a live line-up of up to 20 players.Since then, Jessica has played in orchestras for musicals and theatre, performed with groups like 'The Wicked Tasty' and 'Buena Buya' and has recorded with artists such as Psy(Oddities, Nope), Fiona Stuart and James Kasper. She has performed throughout Canada and the U.S., in England, Australia and Japan and now lives semi-permanently in Toronto. Jessica is very excited to be playing with bassist Dan Fortin and drummer Nico Dann and to announce their debut release, "The Ittiest Bit EP". (Available at Soundscapes, Toronto)
