About Me

If you enjoy easy listening and acoustic soul then you'll love Kijana!!! She combines Jazz, Blues, R&B, and Acoustic sounds to create her own unique style. Her ability to tell stories with her lyrics allows people to see the world through her eyes during those minutes of musical bliss. Plain and simple: She is real and her music is real... and about real things. Each song gives you the ability to step into Kijana's mind.
Kijana was born in Rochester, New York. Born in a musical and creative family she was brought into this world with music and art in her blood. Her mother (a bass guitar player) was raise in a family band and her father (a lead guitar player) is a sketch artist and painter. Kijana has one sibling who was also blessed with artistic talent. Her younger brother is an architect.
Kijana is currently attending college for her bachelors in Graphic Design and Illustration. Although her love is art she has admitted to not being able to live without music in her life. It's what she breaths. A part of her in every aspect.

India Arie ...
Oldies music... ALOT of oldies music

Sounds Like:

Kijana has a unique one of a kind sound. A blend of Billie Holiday and Jill Scott with her own new age twist. But if you ask her who she sounds like she'll say:

"I don't sound like anyone but myself. If I constantly compare myself to other artists I feel like I'll lose who I am. I can only be like myself. And no one else... I'm very different and I like that about myself."
