GODHEAD MACHINE

About Me

KALUS (CAL-LOUS): Hardened, indurated, hardened in mind, insensible, unfeeling, unsusceptible
Out of the ashes of a forgotten era arises a new band to the scene; a band that has been writing, recording, and patiently waiting to take its next step forward. Taking the best of the past and combining it with the best of what is new, CALBREA brings great songwriting back in a mix that includes intensity and heartfelt lyrics, combined with a brutal execution in a live show.
At the foundation of CALBREA is a rhythm section that is often described as “machine like.” Ryan Holland(drums) and Cody Clark (bass) combine aggressive double bass patterns with intricate, creative bass lines to perform as standouts in an industry that usually highlights guitar players. Building off the organized chaos in the rhythm section, guitarist Matt Williams lays down the musical direction and depth that is CALBREA. In a scene full of iconic players, Williams is persistent at delving into complex rhythms and driving sections, while remaining focused ..s to give the songs their own individuality. Front man Rick Norris delivers crushing vocal intensity through his unique blend of aggressive screaming and melodic creativity. With the combination of powerful vocals and intense lyrics, Norris adds even more depth into the complexity that is CALBREA’s sound.A product of the Pacific Northwest, CALBREA is based out of Bellingham, Washington, a small community north of Seattle near the Canadian border. CALBREA is breaking ground as a newer up and coming metal band in a genre that isn’t supported and has been disregarded until recently. Having just finished their Godhevd Mvchine EP, CALBREA plans to follow up their latest effort with a West Coast tour. With an appeal that surpasses its genre, look for CALBREA at a venue near you.
