1997---SORA and KAWABE, each of them had his own band at HS in Hokkaido, formed a band in Tokyo. Sora ( vo/g ) Kawabe (vo/bass) Warabie (dr ) Started 1st self-producing show at YANEURA, Shimokitazawa, Tokyo.
Distributed 1st demo cassette.
1998---After a while Warabie quitted and JJ joined as a drummer. After only 3 shows performed by these 3 guys, KAWABE started to play guitar ( used to be a guitar player at his own band at HS ) and Teppei joined as a new bass player, Since then GIMMIES became a 4 guys band and there happened some evolution in music. At the same time the direction GIMMIES want to move out was going to start changing bit by bit.
1999---Made 2nd demo cassete (consists of 4 songs ). When started to distribute, Teppei left band ,then KIM joined ASAP! as a bass player, brought more groove. So this is THE GIMMIES now, SORA ( vo/g ) KAWABE ( vo/g ) KIM ( bas ) JJ ( dr ).
2000---This demo cassette brought a big opportunity of releasing 1st ep TILL YOU'RE DOWN ( K.O.G.A .records ). It got reviewed on MAXIMUM ROCK&ROLL , also on the front page of THE BLANK GENERATION, web-zine US.
2001---The 1st ep brought another chance to put out the 2nd ep GET IT RIGHT NOW ( Screaming Apple Records ) in Germany. Then again, took part in making omnibus CDs, Various artists/POPPERS' MCD ( K.O.G.A) , V.A./BEAT KONZERT COMPILATION ( Stiffeen Records )
2002---The 1st full length album AUTO SHUT-OFF...ANY QUESTIONS? ( Star Jets Records ) was released , at the same time started TOUR ! Also joined in making a tribute cd to RAMONES. (We played LOUDMOUTH)
2003---Continued TOUR and SHOW. Joined in making compilation CD V.A/P.P.P (1394 Records)
2005---Released our latest album "Phonic Souls" was co-produced by MICHEL DAVIS from MC5..(USA/Dionysus Recs, Australia/BIG STOMP Recs). Toured Australia & USA.But Kim & Kawabe left band for personal reason.
2006---Ryder & Zett joined the band.
