Bassta! Pex was born one Saturday morning in not too distant past. Having never played bass guitar before, it was all too normal for him to wake up that day, jump in the car and start searching for a cheap bass. $200 and half an hour or so later Bassta! Pex was ready to start making noise. Two weeks followed and he felt ready to take his music to the public and the public embraced him wholeheartedly, like the family would welcome a long lost bastard son.If you happen to witness Bassta! Pex performance, you can expect anything and everything in between, from free jazz to Eurovision theme song, from funeral marches to Japanese animation songs, from post punk to traditional Serbian folk... Often coming up with riffs and hooks on the spot and occasionally singing a verse or two, Bassta! Pex is the amusement for folks of all ages. He is available to play at your funeral, wedding, engagement and retirement parties, baby showers and housewarmings.DJ videosex is an offspring of Basta! Pex, godfathered by one Andrew Ryan. DJ videosex enjoys playing records he loves to anyone willing to give an ear. DJ videosex is easy to please and easy to give pleasure. DJ videosex can stand drunk people asking him to play Madonna or Deep Dish. DJ videosex loves to upset and torment such people with the tunes he plays, such as free jazz or that obscure Serbian post-punk screamer. DJ videosex can be booked with or without Bassta! Pex.Bassta! Pex has joined local indie champs Airport City Shuffle in March 2006 to jump in as a bass player. He played a few local shows, as well as two tours of Australia with them. Not to mention he recorded 7 cool songs with ACS. Then he realised he needed another lifetime to keep up with all the bands he’s in, so he had to hand in his resignation, unfortunatelly. Pex started another band with Kenta and Scotty (both from excellent Mannequin). We played our first gig on 2 April, after only 3-4 rehearsals. Then we played some more. The band is called Bamodi.And just to keep himself busy, Bassta! Pex has recently joined a 4-bass (and nothing else) band Abe Sada with Cat Hope, Chris Cobilis and Katerina Papas. But Chris and Katerina being Greeks have left the band in pursuit of happiness. I hope you don’t find it! So, Leemo Pahlemik and Kenta Mannequin have joined, although sometimes Kevin Diode and Boobs Mannequin jump in, not to mention fine young gent by the name of Paul Haimes... Check out one of our upcoming shows in Perth, and we only got back from our Japan Tour 2007 - it was bloody great!!!Together with his partner in crime Atsuko, Bassta! Pex has formed a home-band Clawed Fish. The recording is in process as we speak, look out for Clawed Fish myspace in 2007.Gutter Guitar/bassta!
