About Me

I work with a lot of talented people, whom I love. The circle of friends that I am a part of is extremely radiant, and VERY good at what we do. Most of the time spent in a day is work-related, both sides of the brain engaged.

My Interests

City living. Any hike is done on concrete. Cultural events of any culture. Good wine & good food. Entertainment. Discussion and debate. Thought-provoking people. Positive people. Happy people. Dance (ballet, modern, Rock Steady Crew, Alvin Ailey, and just nodding my ass at the club). Great music and great times. Spanking that booty as opposed to spanking that monkey.

I'd like to meet:

Happy people. Creative people. A hot female nymphomaniac who doesn't speak a word of English and is in town for three days. (That's a joke, kinda) BUT SERIOUSLY FOLKS....I get along with most anyone until they piss me off, then I turn into a real asshole. Just like most of us.

Music:

Musicians like any music that is good, especially well composed and performed with proficiency. SPECIFICALLY SPEAKING--Charles Mingus, Igor Stravinsky, Parliament/Funkadelic, Tower of Power, The Roots, Gang Starr, Mos Def, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Peruchin, Duke Ellington, Bobby Valentin, J.S. Bach, Beatles, Artur Rubenstein, Motown music, Stax music, Fania All Stars, Blue Note music, Common, Mozart, Impulse! jazz, Willie Bobo, Deutsche Gramophon, John Coltrane, Dogg Pound, Gregor Piatigorsky, classical Northern-Indian music, Debussy, Ravel, Schoenberg, Alice In Chains, Fela Kuti, and anything with soul and honesty.

Movies:

A movie can be enjoyable for any number of reasons. A stupid story with great stunts is cool, or a slow movie with great story and acting is cool too. I gravitate towards the crime drama (gangster themed), or the heady comedy (Coen Bros.). Oliver Stone is great, Francis Ford Coppola, Scorcese, Kirasawa, Tarantino, Michael Mann, Brian De Palma (thank you for Scarface). Pretty open about film, as long as it can hold interest.

Television:

Don't watch much TV programming, unless it's Family Guy, Conan O'Brien or NFL season.

Books:

For a long time, I was touring with different bands, which afforded alot of time for reading. All different topics, fiction and non. FICTION--Kurt Vonnegut, Mikhail Bulgakov, Anthony Burgess, Langston Hughes, Mad magazine, Playboy magazine NONFICTION--tradecraft manuals, math textbooks, music theory books, weapons, martial arts philosophy, Gray's Anatomy, Kama Sutra, history textbooks. Basic geek...Library card instead of a credit card.

Heroes:

Anyone with equal dose of balls and brains. Bishop Alphonse Gallegos, Melvin Van Peebles, Coach Mark O'Neill (La Mirada H.S. JV football 128-8-2), Mahatma Gandhi, Keefus Ciancia, Jesus, Satan, Rev. Kensho Furuya, Commander Mark Lonsdale, Don Vito Corleone, Richard Kuklinski, Dan Inosanto, Floro Villabrille, Ghost Dog, Tony Montana, Duke Ellington, Quincy Jones, anyone who has survived combat or the penitentiary, and *.
