A brand new music school in Leamington Spa has just been launched – and it is jointly run by a former lead drummer of the internationally acclaimed Irish dance and musical show Riverdance.
Matt Parker toured with Riverdance in the 1990s and performed in many prestigious venues including the Olympic Stadium, Berlin, and Radio City, New York, where he played for President Clinton on St Patrick’s Day!
Matt launched the new music school together with local musician and teacher Jonathan Gibson. Called Music Lab, it is the first dedicated one-to-one music tuition school in Warwickshire, providing classes for learners from six years to adult. With four purpose-built studios and a high calibre of teaching staff, the school offers lessons in drum kit, guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, saxophone, trumpet, West African drumming, vocals and Latin percussion.
Students of different instruments can have structured classes together, enabling them to practice their group playing skills. The diversity of instruments and disciplines offered at Music Lab also means that students will be learning in a setting where they will be exposed to many different musical instruments and genres. This environment will naturally broaden their musical awareness, and engender a sense of being part of a vibrant musical community.
All classes cost £12.50 per half hour, £25 per hour, with monthly and termly discounts.
