Myspace Codes Hi and welcome to my little myspace. There has been a bit of a delay ..s on here and on my main site at www.craigblundell.net due to work commitments but I'm hoping to keep it updated as much as possible!..................................................E DUCATION.................................................. On to the work side of things, this has been pretty chaotic since January. The teaching studio continues to grow weekly and I’m getting so much satisfaction by seeing students getting better and the way they now approach their instrument, it’s very satisfying as an educator to see your pupils steal your chops!!....................................................O UT LIVE................................................... February saw me in Italy with David Cross from King Crimson and the stunning David Cross band. It took me three months to learn the material (10 tracks!) and as a player it is my dream gig. It’s such an honour to share the stage with David and the stunning band he carries with him. Next month see’s us hit the road in Europe for festivals up until August so it’s a pretty busy time. We have had a LOT of requests from die hard Crimson fans, DC and prog fans about playing in the UK, watch this space......................................................C LINICS....................................................I was so proud to play for Paiste in Frankfurt this year and to be on the bill alongside JR Robinson, Bobby Jarzombek and the Drumbassadors it was such a huge buzz to represent Paiste and we are nearly all confirmed for a far eastern clinic tour at the end of September. On the clinic side of things, I have tried to back off a little this year as I feel I needed a fresh approach. I’ve been working 8-10 hour days in my studio working out new material and I’m happy to say that at the end of the summer I will be doing a tour, dates will be announced on here.......................................................R OLAND.....................................................Iâ €™ve also been on the road for Roland A LOT demonstrating the stunning new TD-9, the new generation of Roland V-Drums. I’m still going to be doing a lot of demo’s throughout the year at various dealers and the bigger shows including LIMS show in June and music live in the later part of the year. I’m also working on the material for two video shoots for the TD-9 and TD-3 that we aim to go live on the Roland site ASAP. As I said to an interviewer from Rhythm magazine this morning, its such a pleasure to play V-Drums, it makes my job so much easier when you’re playing a product that your very passionate about and you know is unrivalled. Roland continues to raise that bar and I’m so excited to be a part of that team. Next month I’m incorporating new loops on my SPD-S courtesy of www.loopmasters.com if you’re a budding programmer or player, check out these guys stuff, it will floor you! I’m also using the RC50 on my V-Drums, for when I hit the road, it should be MAD!.......................................................S EMINARS...................................................Th is year I’m so flattered to be asked to play and teach at the Freddie Gee Drum academy and the Rhythm Course. The first week see’s me do the two opening days with my mate Steve White. I’m there to teach players of all ages and abilities. Gregg Bissonette normally does this course and as he’s on tour, I’ve been asked to fill in with Karl Brazil, Jason Bowld and Colin Woolway. I’m really looking forward to it as this is a racking teaching academy. The following week see’s me go down to the Rhythm Course in Bath for more of the same alongside a wonderful teaching team of James Hester, Colin Woolway and Tim Brown. I fly in from Rome that day after a festival so I have a feeling i’m gonna be needing coffee!!! During the week, players fly in for different master-classes, Benny Greb and Chuck Sabo amongst others. I’m also doing an electronics master-class on the Wednesday then on the Saturday morning fly out to Belarus...ouch !!.......................................... I’m STILL working on the parts for the External Unit album, I promise you, it will be worth the wait !! I have also designed an Electronics case for Protection Racket to house the Roland range, prototypes are being made at the moment. So all in all It’s pretty full on and busier than ever.......................................................I n the midst of this heavy workload “The Two Worlds Collide” project with my close friend Adrian Erlandsson will be back up and running. This tour and DVD will show both of us in our comfort zones doing what we do best then it all changes and both players will cross over into each others world with the aim to master each others unique playing style by being dropped in the deep end! With lots of tasks and challenges along the way, this unique DVD will show any aspiring player in any genre how to achieve goals and ambitions no matter what the challenges are. The DVD will show all the ups and downs of touring, recording and rehearsing and will include all the pitfalls that each of us face along the way. Scheduled for release 2008.......................................................A s always I am very humbled by your emails of support and try my best to respond if I’m around. I look forward to seeing you on the road Craig x........................................................... ............................................................ ......................................................I have toured and performed at drum festivals alongside, Billy Cobham, Marco Minnemann, John Blackwell, Akira Jimbo and Stanton Moore, Gregg Bissonette, Gary Husband, David Garibaldi, Jason Bittner, Will Calhoun, Rodney Holmes, Andy Edwards, Nick D'Virgilio, Marco Minnemann, Liberty De'Vito, Mark Richardson, Pete Riley, Carl Palmer, Mark Mondesir and many more........................................................ ............................................................ .........................................................
