A NOTE FROM LEONA--
Hi Folks, I'd like to invite all of you to the release party of my newest cd at the Nashville Palace on June 20th, 2008. The cd is titled " Leona Williams sings Merle Haggard" and contains many of the great songs we all know and love from this legendary artist. Special guest entertainers at this event include Willie P. Richardson, Crystal Sands and my son Ron Williams. Released by Ah-Ha Music Group, this cd is sure to satisfy all of the fans of real Country music and will be available through Ernest Tubb Record Shops as well as other online retailers. Also listen to a preview of this album live on The Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree on June 21st , where I will be hosting this historic show. ABOUT LEONA--
Leona Williams is country music in its finest form. She's an entertainer who writes, records and performs with more believability and soul than most of her peers. She has opened and closed the show for some of the biggest names in country music. You've seen her on the top country music television shows such as "Hee Haw", "Nashville Now", etc. Leona has made appearances from the Grand Ole Opry to Carnegie Hall, from England to Japan. She has consistently hit the top of the charts with hit albums and singles such as "Someday When Things Are Good", and Heart To Heart, a duet LP recorded with Merle Haggard. She has also recorded a Live LP at San Quentin Prison entitled "San Quentin's First Lady" which garnered her great recognition since she was the first lady to ever record a Live LP in a prison. She was also featured on an album called "Ladies Choice" with George Jones. The song entitled "Best Friends", Leona also wrote. She hit the charts on her own with many singles including "Yes Ma'm He Found Me In A Honky Tonk", "I'm Almost Ready", "No Love Line", etc. She had several 1 songs as a writer including "Someday When Things Are Good", "You Take Me For Granted", "The Bull And The Beaver", etc. Born in Vienna, Missouri, one of 12 children, Leona knows how to keep it country and will make you believe every line she writes and sings.
