General Rules & Regulations For Competition
Qualifications
1. Contestants must be at least 5 years old, anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
2. Competition is open to anyone, however time slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis and may fill up quickly.
Scheduling
1. Each participant will be allowed an 8 minute time frame to preform two songs. Going over your allowed time will cause penalties to your overall score.
2. Entry fees are non-refundable, performance scheduling will be done by the Talent Showcase staff and you will be notified of your competition times, these can not be changed. If you are not on stage at the designated time, your time frame will be forfeited.
Competition Categories
1. There are four categories of competition, Modern Country (songs with made popular within the last ten years), Traditional Country (classic country songs), Other (this could include oldies, pop, contemporary) and Gospel (to include contemporary, hymns and southern gospel).
2. Each category is judged in three different age groups: Youth (5-11 years old),Teen (12-18) and Adults (over the age of 18).
3. Each category has two competitions: vocals and performance. Gospel music will be judged only on vocals.
4. Vocals will be judged on the vocal quality of the performer.
5. Performance will be judged on the presentation of the performance as well, including the performers outfit, moves and overall rapport with the audience.
Music Selection
1. In most cases we will provide karaoke sound tracks requested, however in some cases you will need to provide your own tracks. These tracks must be used with the consent of the song writer/artist or be actual karaoke tracks.
2. Music not appropriate to all age groups or that may be offensive will not be considered for competition.
Judges Qualifications
1. Judges may not have any family members or friends in the competition, they can not be employees of Haymaker Farms or Nashville Connections.
2. Judges are to be knowledgeable of all music styles and vocal abilities.
3. there will be three judges for each competition. Judges decisions are final.
4. Score System Includes: 6 points-Outstanding, 5 points-Excellent, 4points-Very good, 3 points- Good, 2 points-Average, 1 point-Below average.
