Luis "El Rosca" Beltran Castillo was born in 1972 in Pinar del Rio where he began his musical training at the age of 11. He later moved to Havana to complete his studies at the Escuela Nacional de Arte. From the time of his graduation from ENA, "Rosca" was a highly-in-demand musician, performing with some of the most important groups and most prestigious shows (such as El Parisien in the Hotel Nacional) in Cuba. Prior to coming to Miami and joining Tiempo Libre, "Rosca" has toured extensively, appearing in many of the most important jazz and Latin music festivals of Europe and Latin America
