this is a short film I wrote...
this will be the first time i have ever talked about this but it is a problem i have had for most of my life. it started in the third grade, mrs. salvador's class. it just so happened to be the year we learned cursive and important gramatical rules. well this teacher, as did many, had problems with my constant class interuptions. often i would be pointing out how humorous something was or laughing at someone else doing the same and this led to massive ammounts of detention time. ther was one day in particular where i had just finished a spelling test in which i was sure i got an a, when the teacher calls me to her desk and asks me about word number 2 "girls". i said "it looks right to me" and she said "the word was science". i still didn't see the problem and she felt detention was once again the answer. this detention was to be different than detentions before, i was to sit against the wall during recess and right over and over again "i will listen better in class". i had gotten halfway through the first sentence when one of those enormous red kick-balls came flying at my head at an incredible speed. it forced my head to rear back and hit the concrete wall making me see stars and pass out for a minute. when i awoke i tried to make sure i didn't lose any memory. i knew my name, where i was, but the real suprise came when i was back in class. after making my teacher feel huge amounts of guilt, i sat back at my desk and began writing in my notebook. the horror that i realized was that my handwriting was now a disconjointed combination of cursive and print. some side effects are bad spelling and a sbconcious refusal to capitalize anything ever. damn you third grade!!!!
