GCMIA

...supporting the Gold Coast music scene

About Me

The Gold Coast music scene gets bigger and better every year, and the GCMIA aims to assist with forward thinking approaches to coordinating the efforts of local people involved in the music industry. With members ranging from event coordinators, venues and musicians to journalists, music teachers and lawyers, the Association aims to assist people on the coast in generating a self-sustaining industry.
With the support of Qmusic and the Gold Coast City Council, the GCMIA hopes to help raise the national and international profile of artists and the music scene throughout the entire Gold Coast, from Coolangatta to Beenleigh.
By supporting the GCMIA you are supporting the growth and development of the Gold Coast music industry from the ground up! Check out our Membership benefits at www.gcmia.org.au

GCMIA FEATURE ARTIST
ABOUT DOGTAGS...

Since late 2006, Dogtags have been cocking their leg over venues all through the south east of Queensland. Frothing at the mouth and chomping at the bite, these four Gold Coast lads have been spreading their brand of melodic hard-rock to those with ears to hear and establishing a solid and ardent fan base.

With obvious nods to Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan and The Pixies, Dogtags seek to engage their audience with songs that relate to contemporary society and deal with issues of the heart. Priding themselves on a tight live show, the ‘Tags tell it like it is and have supported the likes of Operator Please, The Presidents Bush, Zebra Rodeo, Gigantic (WA), Skybombers (VIC) and The Winnie Coopers.

2008 will see Dogtags let loose off the chain with their debut album, so do yourself a favour and tell your mum that this dog has followed you home.

Upcoming Show:
May 16 - LOUD 08 Semi-Final @ Fisherman’s Wharf
