DJ SHINE

Longtime player in the global dance music scene with numerous singles, remixes and compilation appearances under his belt, Jason "DJ Shine" Spanu's reputation is well known among some of the world's top DJ's and artists. His performances are a live PA/DJ combination that have rocked dancefloors at huge events and underground jams from Mexico City to Vienna.
Currently on a world tour as the programmer in Nelly Furtado's live band, Jason will be putting the finishing touches on his second full length CD 'Attention Deficit Disco' on the bus between gigs this winter.
Click above to check a new mix-set recorded in January 2007. This half-hour studio session is a real-time multi-dimensional view of his technique, with some backup viz using Resolume. Jason uses Abelton Live with Final Scratch to reshape the sounds of minimal, electro, techno and house music.

Jason Spanu has been involved in almost every aspect of music production since the early '90s - working with numerous Toronto based musicians and bands as well as playing at many clubs, concerts and raves as an accomplished DJ and performance artist under the alter ego 'DJ SHINE'. As a live performer, Shine blurs the distinction between DJ/Producer, spinning flawless techno and house on three turntables, laptop and video mixers alongside his samplers. He has blown minds at raves and clubs throughout Canada, and has also performed all over the US, Japan, Germany, Austria, Holland, Switzerland, Barbados and the Dominican Republic.
