BIOGRAPHY
Peter Munch, originally from Denmark, has been DJing since 1993. His passion for music began with classical training. Peter began serious piano lessons at age 13, and by age 15 taught himself drums, bass, guitar and the harmonica. Peter started playing jazz, pop, soul, rock n roll, and even heavy metal, he basically loved to experiment in all sounds. Peter had always been interested in electronics and by the time he built his own home studio at 18 he was on his way to creating the sound he was meant to play. When Peter began DJing at 18 and travelling the world, his hunger for finding and creating the cosmopolitan sound was born. This need brought him to the far corners of the earth, from underground clubs in Tokyo to outdoor raves in Peru. Over the last 10 years Peter has played residencies at clubs in Denmark such as Konrad, Ketchup and Supergeil. Peter has also been an active organizer of big events and parties in Copenhagen. He has brought together such acts as Trentemøller, Audiofly and Café del Mar.
In the middle of 2005 Peter moved his studio and began a new career in New York City. He wanted to learn from the great DJs: Francois K (who co-founded Body & Soul) and David Mancuso (founder of the legendary NYC party “The Loft”, and DJ at Studio 54), who he enjoys a close connection with. Within the last year Peter has focused on DJing in New York City and producing music in his studio. He has released over 13 EPs and worked on half dozen remixes, always finding the balance between the organic and the electronic sound, thus enforcing the Cosmopolitan Sound he is known for.
His music continues to be inspired by such classic greats as The Doors, the funk of Larry Graham, Stevie Wonder, and Prince, while incorporating new electronic sounds from his world travels such as the English barfight sound, the experimental Japanese sound, the sexy French house sound, the minimal Berlin sound and the soulful and bouncing New York City sound.
Peter is know for playing DJ sets that take the audience on an unexpected journey by incorporating unique material into his sets. He is a master at integrating filters and hard-hitting effects. He brings his own mixer (DJM-909) and effect units such as TC Electronic powercore, KAOSS pad 3, and 2 laptops. His DJ sets have already found their way to the most influential Clubs in New York City & rest of the world, such as Pacha, Pachita, Crobar, APT, Nasa, and Konrad, and he was even invited to warm up for David Guetta when he last visited Pacha NYC.

What people in the industry are saying about Peter Munch:
Victor Simonelli: “Really feeling your Productions! Some are deeper that go on a journey, others with that peak time energy. Your material is a welcome pleasure to working the dance floors.”
Barry Lederer: “With so many DJs today turning their aspirations to record productions, you inevitably get a deluge of mediocre music. That is why it is so refreshing to come across Peter Munch. Having made his mark as a top DJ in Europe, he has turned his efforts to recording electronic/house/blues inspired cuts on his own label Cosmopolitan Records. The result is a fresh and unique sounding approach to the endless similar sounding music that is around today. Take a walk through his eclectic but catchy collection on Beatport which should be a wake-up to others -- Peter Munch has arrived.”

Mikkas from Djuma Soundsystem:
“Ubercool tracks. Peter Munch’s Gone Space Trippin -Love the vibes on this one! Great for warming up or that Sunday come down. Back to Back (Jetlag Cph chill mix) Great remix! Moody as hell!”
Aaron Carl: “Back to Back is a killer – Detroit is watching you.”
Chris Cowie: “Digging your tracks, there is something familiar about them, but in a cool way :)”

Andrew Grant: "very good tracks...I luv this sound!! (Return of The Killer Ghost)"
