Loads of people think that they have me figured out... I don't know about that really as I'm still trying to figure myself out.... and as long as I am on "pause" in that respect, the songs will stay on the "polar"... up or down... down or up... deep and moving... romantic and passionate... quirky and flamboyant... depressing and dark... inspiring and elevating... When I was a little girl, all I ever wanted to be was a singer... a singer I became. I dipped into a bit of JAZZ, and then popped through a bit of OPERA, and then somehow ended up doing MUSICALS... you may have heard of a few of them... RENT (benny tour), and even one that was executively produced by "your man" Michael Jackson... SISTERELLA (mmm hmmm)... I have released singles and albums as the solo singer JAZMIN (someone's crazy idea of changing the spelling of my name cause it looked cool) but many moons have passed since those "curly-haired-dancing-queen-lollipop-sucking-special-effecte
d-video" days! I used to sing background vocals for my hugely successful singer friend NELLY FURTADO. You may have caught me backing her on SNL, LETTERMAN, LENO, ROSIE, THE VIEW, TOP OF THE POPS, or some other big tv show... of course, that's all in addition to the mega HUGE festivals & concerts that we played all over the world for her first two albums.
I am a Canadian living in London and I love it! You can catch me at the big Covent Garden Canada Day celebrations drinking beer & sporting cute little canadian flag tatoos on my cheeks (aww how patriotic!). When I lived in Canada I would moonlight as the background singer in the resident band of the tv show CANADIAN IDOL.... I even ended up writing songs for two of Canada's most successful idol winners KALAN PORTER & MELISSA O'NEIL. I used to be the vocal coach for canadian pop stars KESHIA CHANTE and GEORGE who are both insanely talented and deserve the record deals that they have!
