Chris Herbert established Safe Corporation as an independent music management company in March 1994. His first undertaking was the creation of an all-girl pop group to cater to what he had identified as a potentially massive un-tapped market. Highlighting both an astute business mind and a refined musical ear, the Spice Girls went on to global recognition.
The company was soon to be responsible for the multi-platinum sales success of boy-band Five, as well as overseeing the launch of the unprecedented media and sales phenomenon that was reality tv’s first pop superstars, Hear’Say.
Firmly established as the UK’s premier pop management stable, Safe were enlisted to manage the artists from the BBC Fame Academy series, including Alex Parks, whilst also representing a string of hugely successful bands and solo artists, such as Kym Marsh, Abs, Triple 8, Girl Thing, Stephen Gately, Lolly and Mylene Klass. Artists currently part of the Safe roster include:
Ben's Brother who's debut album 'Beta Male Fairytales' has sold over 100,000 copies, and from which the single 'Let Me Out' was nominated for an Ivor Novello award. The band record their second album in Autumn 2008.
Jasmine, the feisty new pop princess, fresh from touring with Nelly Furtado, and just putting the finishing touches to her debut album.
The Ryes are rapidly establishing themselves on UK radio with their debut single 'How Come Loretta' due to be released on 14th Floor Records on the 4th August 2008.
Safe also represent a number of highly respected and successful songwriters and producers, including the Ivor Novello-winning Tim Hawes and Jasmine Baird who's song 'Rippin Up The Disco' has just featured on the new Kylie album.
