NEW SONGS!!

About Me

Hi my name is Amanda Dermid. I grew up in the small town of Unionville, North Carolina. I am 24 years old and moved to Nashville on September 8, 2005 to pursue a career in country music. I come from a very musical family. Music was always the center of every holiday or get together and it was during those times when I got my first taste of country music. I grew up listening to the greats such as Patsy Cline, Reba, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and Martina McBride. When I was five I offered the lead in my kindergarten Christmas musical. It was then I experienced the thrill of being on stage. At that moment, the music bug bit me. From that point forward I would sing anywhere that I was asked, Christmas parties, festivals, school events, local television shows, talent contests, beauty pageants and most importantly church. In 2000 I started working the festival circuit. I performed at various festivals throughout the southeast including The Dogwood Festival in Greenville, North Carolina, The Heritage Festival in Sparta, North Carolina, The Matthews Alive Festival in Matthews, North Carolina, The Carolina Country Stampede in Williamston, North Carolina and many more. In 2002 I was one of 32 singers selected out of 750 contestants to win a guest spot on the newly revived Carolina Calling TV Show, hosted by music legend Arthur Smith. In 2004 I was the overall winner of a state wide country music talent search sponsored by WRHI in Rock Hill, South Carolina, where I won the opportunity to attend the Country Music Awards and received radio airplay and recognition. Also this year, I was a state finalist in the Colgate Country Showdown in Williamston, North Carolina. Just recently I was crowned the 2005 Union County Idol and appeared on WSOC-TV in July on the critically acclaimed television show Gimme The Mike Charlotte. I am so excited to be living in Nashville, the heart of country music, and am ready to embrace all that God has planned for me! I am ready to see what 2006 holds for me!
