Inspector Owl is a five part human, one part computer, indie-pop-dance-rock band hailing from DeKalb, IL. Violin, synth, trumpet, and programming accompany the standard guitar, bass, drums and vocals. They want you to dance. They want you to have fun. Inspector Owl certainly is.
Inspector Owl's live performance speaks louder than words. With violin, synth, trumpet, more auxiliary percussion than you can shake a stick at, and enough energy to give you a seizure, it's an experience not to be missed.
Inspector Owl has shared the stage with Aloha, Troubled Hubble, Eef Barzely (Clem Snide), Rainer Maria, Thunderbirds are Now!, Asobi Seksu, The Felix Culpa, Jason Anderson, Colossal, Via Audio, Maritime, Headlights, The City on Film, Hanalei, The Cougars, The Forecast, Hockey Night, and MANY more.

Sounds Like: Inspector Towel.

Or just check out what other folks have to say.

"A masterful disc that pads the boundaries between kitsch and absolute lyrical brilliance" -Chicago Daily Herald

"Bursting with dancey rhythms, hooky keyboards and epic, soaring choruses...Inspector Owl seem poised on the brink of something huge" -Northern Star

"There are no aloof stabs at cool here, it's infused with straight up uninhibited 'Dance MotherF***er!' power. 4/5" -JunkMedia

"there’s no denying the infectiousness they exude" -Illinois Entertainer

"Keeping the theatrically long reach of those space-rock anthems while embracing the lush, more human element of the current cast allows Wills’ guitar rock stories to fall somewhere between the soil of Earth’s lithosphere and the stars of its mesosphere — which is right where they belong."- Derek Wright, Chicago Innerview Magazine"

"It’s difficult to pin down the magic of an Inspector Owl show, but it’s even more difficult to deny it." -Evan Thorne, Chicago Daily Herald

Inspector Owl combines catchy pop songs with contagious dance grooves and lush instrumentation- programmed electronic elements that interweave nicely with the violin and even the occasional trumpet - for a huge Spector-esque wall of sound. To get the full feel for Inspector Owl, it's imperative to see them live. -Jim Ryan, Wassup Local Chicago
