Boom Box began in 2006 as a simple hip-hop project, but after a year of extreme hype the group neglected to finish writing a single song or play a single show. This realization caused a certain member to furrow his brow and think about what, if anything, would come from breaking out of the band's 'imaginary' status...Jim Kidonakis decided to take a month from work and go driving...He spent a week at a hostel in Pescadero, California, where, on the third day, he wrote a song about his mother...He spent a week playing Guitar Hero with his little cousin in Los Angeles and then went to Las Vegas where he spent all his money on strippers and cards and drugs and booze...All of this put a damper on his disposition so Jim didn't feel much like playing music and just drove home...
