I am here for Friends

About Me

I make most of my living as a screenwriter, but I do a bunch of other crazy crap, too. I wrote and directed GIMME SKELTER, a low-budget horror movie starring Gunnar "Leatherface" Hansen (visit Skelter's MySpace page ). I also wrote and directed THE STINK OF FLESH, a little zombie movie that's being distributed worldwide by Tempe Entertainment. Currently, I'm writing for a TV series called KAMEN RIDER DRAGON KNIGHT, which begins airing on the CW Network soon. My name is on a couple of books, too (but not THE ICE HARVEST -- that's the other Scott Phillips) -- one of 'em is FRIDAY THE 13TH: CHURCH OF THE DIVINE PSYCHOPATH (published by Black Flame) and the other is a collection of sleazy movie reviews called UNSAFE ON ANY SCREEN (published by Frantic Tentacles Press -- get it at Amazon.com ). My biggest claim to fame was writing the Kung Fu action/comedy DRIVE (starring Mark Dacascos, Kadeem Hardison and Brittany Murphy). I also wrote CRYPTZ and HORRORVISION for Full Moon Entertainment, and I've written unproduced projects for Steven Seagal and for Kelsey Grammer's production company at Paramount. You can see stuff from my movies and whatnot at www.edpmovies.com.
As if that weren't enough, I'm working on some comic book projects -- DRAWTARD, with John Howard (HORNY BIKER SLUT COMIX), THE CENTERFOLD with Tim Seeley (HACK/SLASH), and some other stuff of my own.
GIMME SKELTER will be in stores August 26th from Halo-8! It's also available from Amazon and other online retailers.
NOTE: I'm cool with you posting comments promoting your movie/band/film festival/book, etc., but if you post spam for ringtones or iPods or Gucci bags or peener enlargers or crap like that, I WILL DELETE YOU from my friends list really, really quickly.

Comic-Con anxiety and Skelter stuff.

I had my first San Diego Comic-Con anxiety dream the other night -- a little late in the season, but other than that, pretty much like the ones from previous years (which is to say, stupid). In this o...

Eddie and the boys.

My buddy Nathan Long posted this video over on his blog, and it reminded me how much I used to like Tenpole Tudor. I always felt like they were the version of Adam and the Ants that you couldn't beat ...

A lotta Tlapoyawa.

Have you seen this terrifying Google Street View thing? I thought the satellite photos were creepy until I checked this out. And of course, first order of business was to look at the building where Do...

Insert obligatory dirty joke here.

Two-and-a-half hours of dodging a blinding ball of claws on Sunday led to this:That's the formerly-fluffy Dave (a.k.a. The Vice-Chancellor of Fluffington) with a suave new haircut. All the other anima...

From the vaults.

After getting through the first few panels on the strip I'm drawing now, I was feeling kinda crabby about the art. I decided to dig my old original pages out of the barn and see what the heck my stuff...
