I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm an actor-slash-aspiring film maker Denver, Colorado. I'm an outgoing geeky bear who loves living a happy life. I am a spiritual person, and love to think (and love people who think... IQs are hot)
I spend my days watching movies, making short movies, watching TV, lookin' at stuff on the net... pretty boring... but, hey. Occasionally I go out with friends. It's usually to a film, or out to the bar (though I tire of the bar scene).
I love (and love to make) low-budget indie horror flicks and trash cinema! I am a tried and true horror geek (though I'm still watching/catching up on the modern classics... I basically missed the 80's) and am not ashamed to say so. I also love and apreciate finer films as well, I used to manage an arthouse/foreign film theater and still cover a shift there every so often
occasionally life throws me something good and I leave town for a couple of weeks to help make movies with friends in other parts of the country. Just finished one in LA lst month called Pornography: A Thriller ... a mind-twisty dream-logicy movie centered around the world of gay porn. Also, a few are out on DVD right now... can be found on amazon and netflix and the like: a couple of zombie flicks called The Stink Of Flesh (written and directed by Scott Phillips), & Feeding The Masses (written by Trent Haaga), as well as a slasher flick called Wedding Slashers (starring Richard Lynch). Two more are about to come out on DVD... one called Gimme Skelter (starring Trent Haaga and Gunnar Hansen!) and a slacker horror comedy named Necroville PLEASE BUY/RENT AND ENJOY!

My Interests

Filmmaking, acting, watching films, Apple computers, drawing, legos, toys, giant monster battles, drinking white russians (there's nothing quite like a stiff caucasian)... and bears. I also have a fascination with drummers, anyone I can have a meaningful 5-hour conversation with without batting an eye, and geeks.

I'd like to meet:

I want to meet cool people to chat with and people to network with for making movies (especially those who want me to be in the movies *evil grin*).

Below is my acting reel :) enjoy!

Music:

I like at least a little of most styles of music, but I listen primarily to indie rock and harder stuff... and I love J-Rock. I think They Migh Be Giants is the most underrated band of my generation. Other bands I love include: Five Iron Frenzy, The Dandy Warhols, The Hot IQs, Ginkins, Mad Capsule Markets, Electric Eel Shock, Planesmistakenforstars, The Shins, The Symptoms (from denver... no the crappy symptoms from chicago), and ASSACRE... to name a few. Pretty much any band with a stocky drummer too (they're like my kryptonite)

Movies:

FILMS: Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Fifth Element, O Brother Where Art Thou, Tromeo and Juliet, Hedwig And The Angry Inch, Lost In Translation, Ichi The Killer, Akira, Lost In LaMancha, Run Lola Run, Attack The Gas Station, Bear Cub, Little Otik, The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari, Kill Bill, Wasabi, Mulholland Drive, Shaun Of The Dead, Annie Hall, Robot Bastard, Six String Samurai, Spirited Away, Xoolander, The Long Good Friday, Royal Tenenbaums, Saved, Napoleon Dynamite, Garden State, Amelie, Donnie Darko, Blade 2, The Crazies, Series 7, Collecting Rooftops, Survive Style 5 +, High Tension, You and Me and Everyone We Know

FILMMAKERS: Robert Rodriquez, David Lynch, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Takashi Miike, Luc Besson, F.W. Murneau, M. Night Shayamalan, Gore Verbinski, Terry Gilliam, George Romero, Wes Anderson, Katsuhiro Otomo, Hayao Miyazaki

Television:

Sarah Silverman Program, A-Team, Greg the Bunny, Megus XLR, Lost, Robot Chicken, Clone High, Invader Zim, American Choppers, The Critic, Futurama, Myth Busters, Heat Vision & Jack (R.I.P.)... and did I mention Reaper? It's my current addiction.

Books:

I'm not a fast/frequent reader... but here's some of my favorites: Anything by Niel Gaiman, House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski (still in the middle of this one), Ring by Koji Suzuki, Harry Potter series, 1984 by George Orwell, Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke, The Toy Collector by James Gunn, The Books Of Blood by Clive Barker, Make Your Own Damn Movie and Everything I learned About Filmmaking I Learned From The Toxic Avenger by Lloyd Kaufman (the two best non-fiction books I've ever read)

Heroes:

Though I hate using the word "Hero" or "Idol"... celebrities are normal people just like you and me... but none the less, I have a short list of people I aspire to be like: Robert Rodriguez, Mr. T, Bruce Campbell, Alton Brown, & John Goodman
