About Me

This is work in progress : I've been involved in music from my early teens and through the years have played with a few different bands. The first band I played in was 'P.U.S' a punk cover band covering Pistols, Clash and Ramones songs. This was followed by a spell in 'The Plague' a band covering the likes of Joy Division, Fire Engines and DEVO. In 1982 I moved to Manchester and by December of that year found myself living in the Hulme Cresents. It would be fair to say that almost anyone who moved into Hulme around that time would probably say that living there changed their lives, it certainly did mine. The place lived and breathed creativity, and combined with the rest of Manchesters music and club scenes provided the perfect location for any young musician. I had a few bands during my years in Manchester and changed style serveral times or maybe that was just progression. ..... TBC..

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Just myself at the moment....................... ............................................................ .The tracks here are just myself on either guitar, bass or both with the help of a small drum machine, and were recorded at home on a VS1880 multi-track recorder. I hadn't used effects for almost 10 years when I recorded the tunes on Flawedd and messed about a bit to see where I could take my sound. Raga for example is a single guitar track with a simple drum pattern, Landslide a bass, guitar and 2 drum machine tracks, one played live to the recording the other preset. If you would prefer to listen to songs then why not try the Debras Party site at the top of my friends list. Debras Party was me with Deborah Martin and a few friends. ............................................................ .............

Influences: Bands such as Magazine, The Fall and Joy Division were my earliest influences along with other punk and post punk music. Living in Manchester during the early to mid eighties I discovered music both old and new that set my world on fire. This included classic soul, jazz , reggae, hip hop and a host of other music including the likes of Big Flame and the many bands they introduced us to through the Wilde Club. As the years go by there are so many new sounds that it's hard to point a finger at any one stlye and say thats the one. So influences take your pick and decide for yourself what shows through.
