KD Sounds grew up on the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago.
After leaving school his father gave him a choice to migrate either to Canada or the UK. This was because unemployment was high and chances of finding employment were remote, so he tossed a coin and the UK it was.
His passion at the time was technical drawing and his sole purpose was to study architecture, but failed to find a place to fulfil his then passion.
After several frustrating years in a dead end government job, he decided he needed some thing in his life that needed purpose, something he could be apart of and it came totally unexpected when he met a guy called Morph AKA The Path Finder.
Morph was a happy hardcore and drum and bass dj.
KD would ask himself, “How the hell do they make these tunes?†His inquisitive nature would change his life forever.
He started by singing on hardcore and drum and bass when his new found friend would have music sessions. Up to three DJs would be playing back to back and MCs will be chatting and rapping along to the tunes that were playing, he now felt apart of something. He now felt at home.
He later became a member of “The Turmoil Crew†and progressed his knowledge and expertise in making music with a guy called Speedy, who is the cousin of Morph, he learnt a lot from him.
He later studied at SAE (The School of Audio Engineering) and decided thereafter he wanted to do his own music production.
As technology progressed making it easier for music lovers and creaters to have back bedroom studios, he took full advantage and in 1996 purchased his first software studio setup.
He soon hooked up with a guy called Freaky (Hyper Records) and together they have been through thick and thin and still make music together up to this day.
Says KD…"I have been involved in music since the early nineties and been producing since 1995, working with numerous unsigned artists along the way, so my personal music archive is huge. Currently in collaboration with my "Partner in Crime" The Freaky, owner of Hyper Records (mypsace.com/freakyweb) and PJ, from the duo PJ and DJ Regular from Roots FM (ukrootsfm.com)...you can catch them between 10:pm and 02:00am every Sunday playing inspiring soul sounds. We are all based in West London."
