MUSIC!I feel privileged to have been a successful songwriter and to have worked with all the talented people I have. I enjoy all types of music and all types of music enjoy me!My all time musical favorite is STEVIE WONDER! Can you say "Isn't HE Lovely?"My all time favorite song is "YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND!" My mom told me the first time I heard it when I was a little kid I said "Mom, I really like that song." I must have been about 7... LOL CAROLE KING you're the BOMB! And so are you JAMES TAYLOR.My all time favorite songwriter? That is a tough one I have so many, but if I had to pick just one I would have to go with BURT BACHARACH. Like Stevie, he's an original!As far as record producers go my all time favorite is MUTT LANGE. The sound and textures of the records he creates are amazing!But if I had to pick one person of all the people I have worked with and/or met in the music business the one that stands out from all the rest would be record producer ARIF MARDIN. For those of you who may not know who Arif is, he produced many classic records and artists including BETTE MIDLER'S "WIND BENEATH MY WINGS," ARETHA FRANKLIN, CHAKA KHAN, THE BEE GEES, PHIL COLLINS and NORAH JONES to name a few. Arif is not only a musical guru, he is a man of great wisdom, character and integrity in an industry that can be cold and shallow at times. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to watch him work on arrangements and with artists and musicians in the studio, and to have him produce one of my songs as well.Keep it on the upbeat and have a wonderful day!STEVIE
WONDERAs I mentioned above STEVIE WONDER is my all time favorite musical EVERYTHING! Have you ever looked closely at the musicians who music artists of ALL STYLES on Myspace list in the "INFLUENCES and/or "SOUNDS LIKE" sections of their Myspace pages?I have! And the one name that always seems to be on people's lists is STEVIE WONDER! It doesn't matter what musical category an artist lists their music under (Soul, Country, Rock, Hip Hop, Jazz, Alternative, etc...) it seems as though STEVIE WONDER'S name is on more people's lists as an influence than any other music artist.
