No Crash & Burn Story for This Music Artist At a time when the music industry has a host of celebrated artist crashing and burning, a contradiction to this sudden craze has risen. A music artist with unbridled talent that keeps her grounded with the past as a constant reminder of the literal highs and lows of life. Known as Miranda, the single name of this stunningly gorgeous woman with a voice grown through sorrow is captivating the landscape of El Paso, Texas. Coming from a home where she saw abuse, drugs, OD’s and heart ache, a strong and talented woman survived a dysfunctional household by living within her music. Born in the South Texas city of Kingsville, music and dance had a strong influence at an early age. Her father was a Tejano singer/songwriter making various appearances on Johnny Canales and Domingo. Her mother was a well respected nurse until her vices put an end to her career. At first look from the outside, the family setting looked good. From the inside a little girl was growing up in a house of horror. Seeing her parents destroy their lives with heroin and other vices, she arose from the pits of hell. With the funky hot single “Mommy Dearestâ€, Miranda paints a picture of what her life was like and the pleas she wanted her own mother to hear and abide by. Songs like “Just To See The Pain†and “Out of Line†continue to blend the sounds of Soul, Funk, Ska, Jazz, Pop, Rock & R&B. Miranda and her music can be described as sexy, sultry, hot and spicy with a little bit of playful attitude. Coming from a house of chaos, Miranda has not only endured and overcame hardships, but she has reached back into the community to help others. This is not a story of a music artist that makes it big and then returns home tossing out money to give the appearance of making a difference. Quite the contrary, Miranda is taking strife head on in a low income school system on a daily basis. She feels that making a difference in schools can directly affect young lives. You see…, Miranda left home at the age of 16 in order to escape a hopeless situation. Determined to not fall to peril like so many others that leave home at an early age, Miranda finished high school, went to college and became a nurse. Yes, that’s right…, a nurse! Being a nurse and getting a job where she can make a direct impact with children was her way of being immersed in the fire. Miranda began her professional career in the pediatric unit at a hospital. She then moved to El Paso, Texas and began working as a Marketing Director for another hospital. Pulling endless hours, Miranda new she needed to make a change so that she could focus on her music. Eventually a School Health Coordinator position was the answer to her prayers. Going from school to school on a daily basis, she had direct contact with thousands of young lives with a schedule that allowed her time to focus on music. By providing nursing, immunizations, parenting classes and volunteering with the Adopt an Angel program, Miranda is not afraid of challenges. Even better, she does it all with a family of her own. Having a husband and children, she takes all of her success in stride. Miranda tells her story and the stories of others through her writing and music. Her music is something that people can directly relate to because she writes and sings about life’s realities and she keeps it real. Miranda gives hope for those who have been where she has been and provides some spice for those who see what she has become. There is “No Crash & Burn Story for This Music Artist†and the industry is taking notice.
