About Me

I was born in 1986 and I lived a faboulus childhood in a little village at close contact with nature and it's philosophy. Since I was very young I've felt inside me a strange sensation and passion for music, especially for symphonyc and rock 'n' roll, so I began to study the basics of piano and organ when I was approximately 8. However, I've always had a strong passion for drums... and everything that could sound like that (I've destroyed the ears of my parents, friends, acquaintance with every type of drum that I could create... Boxes, cans, pots and pans...). Comin' back to my fool story I can say that at the time, I didn't study the technic really very much cause, you know, my first care was to have fun all and every day... But I continued playn' piano until secondary school when I started to study seriously, taking lessons from both a piano player and the professor of my school, that could play I think every type of instruments and that fed my music hunger not only with technique but also with the magic that music could create. Thanks to him, I understood that my real instrument was drums and so I started play percussions. But I wasn't satisfied... One drum wasn't enough, I needed to relieve myself on an entire drumkit! I started to ask my parents to buy me a kit but the answer was always: "no way!"... After a year of requests and after I've broken their balls every day, for my 14th birthday they took me my first drumkit, a Yamaha DP, that I still use now with the addition of other pieces from the original kit. (Maybe it's not a very professional instrument, but I've changed all the heads, cymbals, mechanics, and with my permanent research of new sonority, now "she" has a fuckin' good sound!) I still remember the broken cymbals and heads caused by my animal style of playn'...In that period there were two persons that influenced me a lot: first of all my eternal friend Ruben Perez, an Argentinian drummer that toured the world playin' drums also in well-known places, that teached me the rudiments of drumming (and helped me choosin' my first drumkit and above all the first person that really introduced me to the instrument... [Thanks forever Ruben!]) and then there was my friend Fabio, a drummer too, but before it an heavy-metal fan that made me discover that type of music and let me enter in another world of music made of new sounds. Since that moment I started to see music under another point of view, leaving the common canons of the music knowledge and most of all living it like a philosophy. For this I've to thank you either Fabio! The days passed by, and thanks to that experience I resumed studying but this time my favoured instrument, with other two persons I have to thank: The Great Marcello Arisi (that further expanded my horizons and improved a lot my techinque and skills...Do you still remember our crazy lessons drunk? :) and Michele Gianluppi (that approched me to the concept of music as a science...) At the same time I discovered Queen, my first hard rock and forever my favourite group, that definitively oriented my tastes on the real (fuckin' good!) music and I began to play with various friends and groups since I've find at the end "my" serious group: The Liars, a Queen Tribute band ,where a still play now. This group gave me the chance to enter in the “professional” world and, above all, the chance to grew up as a man and as a “musician”, where I’m still learning new tricks every time for drummin’ techinque and for varied secrets of the musical field. After some years of practice, in 2006, I felt that I was finally ready for my own group... A serious group, with a project, where I could liberate my fantasy, where I could feel free, with our songs... I started searchin’ for the members on various local newspapers but I didn’t find what I was searching for. Then, one day, some friends told me that they knew a group searchin’ for a drummer... So I called the singer and we reached up a jam session for few days later. At the chosen day, we met us in the evening at the garage of the bass player, transformed in a very cool and functional studio. With only this fact, my enthusiasm growed at the istant. When we started to play, in a moment, a special feeling was born and in spite of it wasn’t really my genre of music and we had very different musical tastes, that was the reason why I felt it was my group. After some months playin’ like a trio we decided to search for a lead guitarist. After we found him the group was completed, we only had to choose a name... I really don’t ever liked this name (the majority wins!) but at the end we decided to call us Nymphea. The rest is chronicle of our days... (If you want to know more about the band’s history check out our website: www.nymphea.in). Nowdays, I’m also a student of jurisprudence at the Milano-Bicocca University. About the music I’m studying as an autodidact, trying for a moment to break free from the music teaching canons. This method gave me the chance to live music in another way. However these days I’m taking up the consideration to start again studying to get the highest level, maybe at an Academy or CPM. Now music is my life and I feel her like a philosophy and a science, where there’s always something to learn. I think that music must have no limits, where nothing is for sure, that is the reason why I’m on a continued research of the transcendent and of new sonorities, to enlarge my horizons far away as possible trying to see the unseen. Music is an art. Today is only a product made up for money. Music isn’t that, music is a real passion, an emotion that comes from the heart, something mystic. Music is in the humanity since the ancients times and maybe the only one that could save us. We don’t have to get fooled again, I won’t get fooled again. I’ll listen only fuckin’ good music!!! I hope you’ll do the same... There could be more to tell about but I don’t want to bore you anymore... The only thing I could say is: Long Live Rock ‘N’ Roll!!! :) Service communication: Maybe there are some grammar errors in the text... I’ll be pleased if someone will help me to correct them! :)
