About Me


Born in Nicosia, Pambos Kouzalis has studied Archaeology and History of Art at the Athens University. Since 1998 he teaches Greek literature in public schools. Many of his lyrics have been set to music by Costas Cacoyannis and were featured in various theatrical productions (such as “Ecclesiazousae” directed by George Mouaimis at Herodion for Athens Festival 2006, “La Ronde” directed by Evis Gavrielides, “Mana mitera mama” directed by Minas Tingilis and “Voices Beyond the Dark” at the Megaro Mousikis in Athens directed by Michael Cacoyannis) and TV series for CyBC, ANT1 and Sigma. His poems have been featured in several poetry anthologies and literature magazines in Cyprus, Greece, Switzerland and France. On September 2003, he published his first collection of poems “raptos logos”. He has also written the script for two TV films broadcasted by CyBC on December 2003. With Costas Cacoyannis he co-founded “PARAKENTRO” , a non-profit cultural center and publishing company located in Lemythou on Troodos mountain in Cyprus, and directed a series of music videos, documentary films and video poetry. He has collaborated with Kalliopi Vetta, Annita Santorinaiou, Stela Fyrogeni, Doros Demosthenous, soprano Maria Papaioannou, Mexican tenor Armando Mora, Mara Constantinou and Constantinos Melides. www.parakentro.com
