Desperate, because the local music scene was seriously lacking a quality classic rock band. With uncompromising dedication, the two of them set out to piece together upstate New York's premiere classic rock tribute band. It only made sense to recruit Matt's step brother and long time band mate of Tom's, Jimmy Cacala, to play drums. After several months of rehearsing in a dingy cellar in Horseheads, New York, with bass player Damon Cornish, they moved into a studio now known as Kokopelli Music Studio, in downtown Elmira. Damon decided to leave to begin a new band of his own. At that time the natural choice for replacement was Billy Cristofaro, who played bass with Tom and Jimmy in the now defunct Vaudeville. This foursome is now performing classic rock songs the way they were meant to be, hard, loud, and fast. Until now, "The Culper Ring" has been the area's best kept secret.
