About Me

Instructions: This coding, starting with the cite tag above should go into your "about me" section and should be the only thing in your about me section. You may leave these instructions in place for reference, as they will not appear on your profile. It is strongly recommended that you do not edit this section if you are not good with CSS, as spelling something incorrectly or accidentally deleting something as simple as a . or a ; could result in your profile not working at all. In order to add comments back, add this code right before the closing style tag near the end of this section:.friendsComments{display:inline; top:XXXpx; left:XXXpx; position:absolute; height:XXXpx; width:XXXpx; overflow:auto} .friendsComments td{visibility:visible; color:XXXXXX; background-color:XXXXXX}You will need to adjust the XXX's for background color, width, height, and position. In order to edit colors of text within your comments, additional code is required, which can be found at http://www.myspaceprodesigns.com/tutorial/myspacesel.phpSome of you will want to remove our logo and we understand, but we ask that you please at least put a link to http://www.myspaceprodesigns.com somewhere on your profile. We would be truly appreciative as we have spent a lot of time making these layouts both functional and easy to use.

I'm a student at the University of California Santa Cruz, majoring in Politics. My first novel was published by Chiasmus Press at the end of 07, and I'll be moving to Paris in 08 for a year of school and maybe more after. I'm interested in human rights, particularly women's rights, and humanitarian intervention. I write stories, articles, crossword puzzles, long letters, and may add grant proposals to that list in the future. I think MySpace is bullshit and would be interested in getting away from Capitalist me culture and exploring other ways of life. What has the internet become?

"A toxic-shock torrent of bad energy and beautiful language, Colette Phair's 'Nightmare in Silicon' is recklessly brave and driven writing, brimming with fluorescent style and startling ideas. Hers is a strong, new voice that demands and deserves to be listened to."
—Alan Moore, author of V For Vendetta and Watchmen

"Cyberpunk is alive and well. Nightmare in Silicon is convulsively funny, hideously diseased, erotically oozing, tightly plotted, and told with a wonderfully sharp tongue."
—Rudy Rucker, author of Software and Mathematicians in Love

"If Kathy Acker had lived long enough to have access to an iPod, Red Bull and Second Life, she might have come to sound like Colette Phair… Phair takes no prisoners in her vivid, sonorous truth-telling."
—Paul Di Filippo, author of Ciphers and Ribofunk
