About Me

I grew up in what used to be a small rural town. Life was simple and good. I hunted and fished. The only thing that really made me unusual then was that I also Fenced Epee. I was ranked 2nd for two years and first for one year in the under 19 age catagory and qualified for the Junior Olympics three times. I was able to afford to go the last time but I only made it into the quarter finals. I ended up in the US Navy and spent 10 years in the nuclear power program. I was a machinist mate and was submarine qualified. I served on the USS City of Corpus Christi for 4 years and 14 days, roughly 76% of that time was spent away from home port. During one deployment we were submerged for 89 days straight. Shortly after I got out of the service I meet the woman that would become my wife. Barb and I have been married since 1993. I became an instant dad to three wonderful kids and we added one more to the bunch so that we would be an even half dozen. I've ran boilers for a roofing and a candy factory and I've worked at an oil refinery since I left the Navy but for the last 9 years I've been an operator at a small combined cycle power plant that recovers methane gas from a landfill for it's fuel. It's a nice small group of people, like all places their are negatives but overall I'm happy to be there.
