AVA GARDNER FILM FESTIVAL director, Kirk Adam gushes: "AVA GARDNER FILM FESTIVAL will include an art and fine craft marketplace, special Ava Gardner Exhibitions, with over 4 theatres, this years festival bring more parties and a filmmaker’s lounge.

Films will be screened in Smithfield’s oldest theatre, the Howell theatre. It was at the Howell theatre that Ava Gardner herself watched the “Red Dust” starring Clark Gable and Jean Harlow. Little did Ava Gardner know that she would later “star” with Clark Gable in the successful remake of the picture retitled “Mogambo”.

AVA GARDNER FILM FESTIVAL does a monthly micro-cinema year round. Independent films are programmed and screened at the Ava Garnder Museum’s Theatre.

The AVA GARDNER FILM FESTIVAL schedule includes lectures, roundtable discussions, workshops, local cafes and coffee shops, live music, meet and greets, and special opening and closing night celebrations. All filmmakers receive a full-access Festival pass upon acceptance.
