Pastor Jeffery Williams Born October 20th, 1971 to Mr. & Mrs. Jeffery Williams, in San Francisco, California, with Ministry and music destined to be in his future. Jeffery Alphonso Williams has been happily married for twelve years to Tajah P. Williams and father of two handsome boys, Javyn and Jeryn and a beautiful baby girl Jaylah. He has instilled in his family the importance of being in the perfect will of God. God’s will is what he wants for his life.
Jeffery accepted the call to the ministry in 1994 under the Pastorate and leadership of Gordon A. Humphrey Jr. of the Olivet Institutional Missionary Baptist Church. Ordained as Elder in July 2001, he is now the proud Assistant Pastor of Celebration Worship Center, in Oakland California. Jointly pursuing ministry with his brother-in-law, Senior Pastor, Gregory D. Hunter. He states, “He never would’ve thought they would be in ministry together.†(They didn’t particularly care for each other when first meeting). “God has a way of doing things you’d least expect.†Together they have produced several projects for Bay Area Artists and Churches, Olivet Oakland “Sunday Night Liveâ€, Eugene Cole, Peace Gospel Choir and the Peniel Baptist Church Choir. A composer in his own right has penned many songs on all these projects.
Jeffery, an accomplished musician, psalmist, vocal coach and trainer, studied classical music and able to read music at a very young age. He pursued music with a vengeance and mastered it. Versed in jazz, traditional and contemporary Gospel music, he is unparalleled in his dedication to excellence. His many gifts have made room for him. He has traveled to Japan, Sweden, Denmark and Australia just to name a few. His personal calendar is consistently filled with both preaching and speaking engagements.
He has performed for many years with the San Francisco Symphony in their Soulful Christmas presentation, “Colors of Christmas,†and has worked with such renowned secular recording artists such as Natalie Cole, Peabo Bryson, Oleta Adams, James Ingram, Dionne Warwick, Roberta Flack, Aaron Neville and Patti Austin.
Pastor Jeffery is a former member of the Youth Board of Directors of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, Founder, and the late James Cleveland and is presently the Minster of Music at First AME Church Oakland. He is privileged to share in ministry with Minister Kirk Franklin, Donald Lawrence, Karen Clark-Sheard, Dorinda Clark –Cole, Bishop Walter L. Hawkins, Edwin Hawkins, LaShun Pace, Bobby Jones and Evangelist Beverly Crawford.
Pastor Jeffery is excited about what God is doing in the life of his family, church and ministry. He often states, “This is the season of more and open doors for the saints.†“WE HAVE THE FAVOR OF GOD, BECAUSE WE FAVOR GOD!†(We’re made in his image).
