About Me
!!!!!!!!NEW MINI-CD IS OUT NOW ON CRASH LANDING RECORDS!!!!!!!!!We started off in December 2000. Jeroen de Klerk, Michel Matteman and Tony Goudkamp decided to start a Death Metal Band. There was a lot of talking, but no action took place until April 2001. Caldron, Jeroens former band, split up and Jeroen, Michel and Tony started off making noise. Jelmer Samson was asked to play the bass. Because we had no drummer, Michel temporarily took the position of drummer.
We started brainstorming for possible bandnames, which posed a bit of a problem. All kinds of names came up, like 'The Disgruntled Postal Workers' and 'Skullcrushing Pigeons', but we eventually made a choice and it was then that we would be known as 'Carnal Leftovers'.
We started playing without a real drummer. Then, on a rainy Sunday afternoon, Micha Kieftenbelt walked in, took the drumsticks in his hands and started making a lot of noise. We decided to let him stay (because he was obviously enjoying himself) and so the band was completed. We started working on our first track 'Crap 1', which was written in no time.
From that point on, the creativity started flowing and songs were brought to life.
All (except a few) lyrics aren't very serious in nature, because that's something we value; don't take everything too seriously. There are so many Death Metal bands around that have that 'evil' image. That's okay with us, but we like to, sort of, put the 'fun' back in 'funeral'.
Because we were anxious to see what the public would think of our Death Metal noise, it was time for our first gig. This took place in February 2002 at 'Zwols Popfront' in Zwolle. The reactions were very enthusiastic and, from that point on, we've been performing on stage all across the country with a lot of great bands.
The ball kept rolling and we decided it was time to record something. We chose to record at VISION Sound Engineering in Heino and in April 2003, our first demo 'Fluffy Little Teddybears' was a fact.
At the end of 2003, Tony decided to leave the band because of personal reasons. His last gig was in Hedon, which was also the first gig of Mathieu Nijboer, who replaced Jelmer on bass. Mart Wijnholds became the new guitarist. We wrote some new songs that were even more brutal. Mart decided to call it quits after half a year of service because he didnt have the time to focus on three bands at the same time. Again, it was time to look for a new guitarist. We had only one audition and with this guy we really hit it off: Morte Aeterna guitarist Wilfred Heerspink. With our current line-up and with our set of fast and slow-paced furious oldskool Death Metal songs we rocked stages all over Holland and played on all kinds of festivals, like the Braindead fest and Stonehenge. Playing with other brutal bands, we have grown as a band and now have a live performance that is powerful and leaves a lasting impression on anyone that experiences it.We just recorded our M-cd: Pressure Pleasure with Tom van Dijk (Dead Head) & Ferdi (Massive Assault) witch will be released very soon!!
