For a certain group of metal-fans Cromm Cruac is not a new name.
This band is still producing their contradictive style of metal,
as they did since February of 1992.
In this time Cromm Cruac made three demotapes increasing
their technique and developing a style not comparable
to current metal-styles.
In 1998 the band decided to record their first album titled "Senecio",
which came out the next year with the help of Firebreath/T.E.R.-records.
Though this debut-album was received very positive by in fact all of the
magazines that knew of its existence,
the band remained in the underground.
After a year of songwriting and playing some gigs here and there,
Cromm Cruac entered the studio again to record their second CD.
Spread out over a period of seven months nine rather varying
songs were recorded. Despite of this variety,
this new CD called "Meadows Of Madness", is very recognisable
without doing any concessions to more popular styles.
The close to perfect production (Harrow Productions) added a great
deal to get to such a result.
"Meadows Of Madness" has been released in 2001 and had great
critics from major (internet) magazines.
There also have been some line-up changes. Due to the leaving of Rob
in January 2003, the band was without a bassplayer for a while.
In Daniel Centiago replacement has been found in May 2003.
Due to the leaving of vocalist Herman in July 2004, Cromm Cruac
looked out for a new vocalist. Rob heard about it a few days
later and said that he wanted to give it a shot. It worked out well,
so Rob is back in the band.
In January 2005 the band parted with Daniel Centiago and Rob is
taking over the bass. So the line-up is the same as the band
begun in 1992.
Cromm Cruac moves on with writing material for their third album
and playing live-gigs.
They're hoping to record their third full-length somewhere,
sometime.
