Destroying Ourselves Since 1988

About Me

..This profile was edited with MySpace Profile Editor MySpace Profile Editor In 1995 Schleprock grabbed the stage and put the sprawling suburbs of Los Angeles San Gabriel Valley on the international punk rock map. Born in a garage in 1988, Schleprock burst out of suburban backyards with a vengeance. Consummate road warriors, they jumped in a van, blazed through the local underground music scene and set their sights on the world. Eight years later the dust settled over countless miles traveled on three continents and 100,000 records sold.During the resurgence of punk in the midnineties Schleprock became a major role player and supported bands like Green Day, Bad Religion, Blink 182, and Rancid. The mass exposure and crafty songwriting eventually earned the band a deal with Warner Brothers Records. Soon after the release of their major label debut, (Americas) Dirty Little Secret, it was playing on radio stations across the United States, and the video for the song Suburbia was in heavy rotation on MTV.Success comes with its own demands however, and the wear and tear of eight years of non-stop touring combined with changes at the label after its merger with TNT convinced the band to call it a day. Schleprock fans are rabid and enduring though and they never stopped asking for more. Sadly guitarist/song writer Jeff Graham passed away from a drug over dose in 2003, leaving everyone stunned and plans for a reunion tour in disarray. In memoriam of guitarist Jeff Graham we have put together the definitive Schleprock retrospective. Learning to Fall contains 21 tracks that follow the band from beginning to end including fan favorites, six previously unreleased tracks, several rare/out of print tracks, and the demo that got them signed to Warner Bros. It chronicles the life of a band of young punk rock kids that set out only to disturb the neighbors and amuse some of the local neighborhood kids but ended up going to the majors and gaining fans throughout the Western world.Learning to Fall is a must have tribute to long time Schleprock fans and an excellent introduction for new fans. It is also our way of honoring the memory of our dearly departed friend, Jeff Chiefy Graham. For all of those who knew Jeff and were or will be touched by his music, a piece of him will be with us every time we spin this disc.A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this record will be donated to Jeffs wife, Monica.
