RAISING FEAR
RAISING FRIENDS
HERE'S A BACKWARD TIMELINE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENTS IN RISING FEAR HISTORY.
The New Raising Fear Family
The band is proud to introduce the new members of the “familyâ€:
Frank Rider (GUITAR)
This guy doesn't need to be introduced, his band LOVE MACHINE is a mile stone on the Italian Metal scene of the years 80/90, his support to the band SIGMA just confirmed his musician's great experience.
Corrado Vecellio (BASS)
Despite to his young age, he can boast of a considerable musical experience, he played with: Mad Hatter; Aerospritz; Shattered; Sundance kid; and others...of the busy metal scene of his town Padova; the guy was suggested directly by Frana.
Reinforced by the new line-up that brings to the band new energy, Raising Fear start again opening a new season of gigs.
The Story
Raising Fear were born in the far 2002. The offspring of Yorick’s and Alberto Toniolo’s desire to create a new musical project detached from their actual experiences. The two guitarists have quite different styles, and musical backgrounds. On one hand, Alberto Toniolo and his War Trains have always played a Classic Heavy Metal inspired by bands like King Diamond, Merciful Fate, Metal Church and Candlemass. On the other, Yorick with his Helreidh (Mémoires 1998 and Fingerprints of the Gods 2001 for Underground Symphony) have always produced a heavy prog metal with symphonic bias inspired by Savatage, Dream Theater, Symphony X, and in some cases Marillion and IQ. The musical marriage between these two different guitar styles found fertile ground in a speed power metal embellished by moments of highly skilful guitar technique, deeply influenced by the American 80s (from which the name Raising Fear recalling the Armored Saint album), and by the Teutonic power metal of the last decade. Eighteen months after its foundation, and after various changes the line-up was finally defined: bass player is Frana (Helreidh and graduating student at the Lizard Musical Academy) and drummer is Cristian Galimberti (already with War Trains). As for the singer, things took longer to settle. After a series of singers who wouldn’t fit the style of the band, Rob Della Frera singer for Deadline (Dressed to Kill 1999 for Underground Symphony) and Love Machine joins Raising Fear. The part played by Rob is fundamental for the proceeding of the compositions which finally start to have personality and substance. Rob’s voice perfectly merges into the songs and gives definition to the style of the band. The picture is complete at last. After a few years of good time and music spent together there is a split in the band , Frana leave the band in september 2006 to follow his way to a different kind of music , just two months later Raising Fear and Yorick take the decision to split due to musical and personal different point of views , just a few month later the line up is again complete and ready to rock the scene , Corrado is the welcome new bass player (suggested by Frana) ; and Frank Rider the new 6 strings axe who will be part of the new Raising Fear line up.
Releases
In 2003 the band releases its first “Promo 2003â€, which gained them a good deal with Dragonheart/SPV for two albums. The first “Mythos†was released in March 2005, and the second “Avalon†was released in September 2006 , the new comin’ chapter will be released asap...

Even in the first years of activity, Raising Fear happened to play already in some important occasions: July 2003 at Valpolicella Metal Fest with Grave Digger, and at Transylvania Live in Milan as opener for Jag Panzer. The band supported Brocas Helm in Italy in 2005, and again Jag Panzer in 2005. In 2005 Raising Fear toured Italy for the Mythos on Tour 2005, in June 2005 at Tradate Iron Fest with Saxon, RJ DIO, Exciter, Vicious Rumors and more, and in October 2005 they were part of the bill of the Swordbrothers Festival in Andernach, Germany.
