Reasonable Deception is an Extreme Metal Band that was founded by Chuck Doner and Chris Fulton in 1994. They started their band out of a basement and began recruiting several members to make up the rest of the band. The band became Reasonable Deception during the time that ex-bassist Jason Kashazta was with them. He came up with the name and it has been that ever since. Reasonable Deception recruited long time friend, Kurt Gutzka to sing vocals, Todd Moser for bass, and Rod Suprenaunt as second guitarist. In 1997, they played the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, Michigan, but shortly thereafter, Rod left the band, and Todd moved to West Virginia. The three remaining members planned a trip to W.V. to record with Todd, and shortly before the trip was slated, Kurt left the band for personal reasons. Chuck and Chris made the trip anyway. They practiced with Todd for 5 days, getting him caught up on new and old songs, then hit DreamCatcher studios. They recorded a nine disc demo titled (E.T.) The Extra Tortures. The band was signed to Burnt Records, but an unfortunate event put the label in turmoil after the manager had a series of health issues. Without a singer, Chuck and Chris did the vocal tracks for the demo, and even performed that way live for about a year. Dom Radtke joined the band as bass player, and Jerry Graham became the second guitarist. They played several shows in the Northern Michigan area, but the scene was dead. Jerry left the band, and formed SteelToe. In 1999, Kurt rejoined RD, and in 2001 the band recorded their second demo titled "War Rages", at Frontier Studios in Copemish, MI. Getting tired of the local shows, the band started looking for bigger venues and Detroit was a good place for them, but the drive was four hours away. Chuck visited SW Florida, and decided that with or without the band he was going to move there. In 2005, Chris got on board and moved there as well. Again, down to two members, they started branching out to find the band. They recruited Chris Stack for rhythm guitar, and Dom Radtke moved down to play bass. After seven months, Dom went back to Michigan; however, during his brief stay, he met Ace who is now Dom's replacement. They still did not have a singer. Mike Dickerson showed up to every practice just to watch, and Chuck using his resources asked Mike to audition. After a couple of months, Mike got the grasp of the songs and at the end of 2006 they played their first show. In October, 2007 they recorded a five song EP in Nashville TN, due for release in 2008. Currently they are working with Studio 515 of Nashville, and together they are working towards a major record label.
