Music:
My musical taste is varied. I grew up on classic rock and blues, like the Beatles,BB King, Led Zeppelin, Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix,Black Sabbath, Clapton (especially when he was with Cream), CSN&Y, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, The Greatful Dead and the Stones. When I hit my teens I started to get into Punk/Hardcore, Reggae, and Ska. Some of my favorite punk bands are Agnostic Front, Dead Kennedys, The Velvet Underground, Joy Division, Fear, Slapshot, Bauhaus, Iggy and the Stooges, Minor Threat, Murphy's Law, Butthole Surfers, Black Flag, 4 Skins, Bad Brains, DOA and Circle Jerks. Some of my favs from the Reggae and Ska arenas like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, Desmond Dekker, Laurel Atkien, The Skatalites and some 2 tone era Ska like Madness, The Specials, and The Selector. By the end of highschool I broadened my range again to include many from the rap/hiphop genre like Ice-T, Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, Public Enemy, The Beastie Boys, A Tribe Caled Quest, EPMD, Wu Tang Clan and The Roots. In college I developed an appreciation for the cream of the electronica crop. I discovered that there was more to 'techno' than just beeps and computers; moreover, I got turned on to Drum n'Bass. Some of favorites from the electronica genre are Orbital, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Roni Size, LTJ Bukem, Goldie, and Underworld. I also like jazz quite a bit, especially very chill days. My favorite Jazz artists are John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock, and Louis Armstrong, Stan Getz, and Vince Guaraldi. I even like some old country like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Walon Jennings, Patsy Cline and Charlie Daniels Band. I also like some of the 'alternative' (I hate that word!) bands of the 90's like Tool, Rollins Band, Pixies, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Sublime, Rusted Root, Phish, and Ween
