One of Philthy..s missions is to be a positive force by ACTUALLY BEING a positive force in today..s world of Hip-Hop most artists talk about being role-models and they are just not good ones. But this is different for Philthy born in Landstuhl Germany by the name of James Gardin. He has always felt he could make a change through his music. Starting at the age of 9 he new music could be a tool for change his first rap was for a Drug-Free Rap Contest in Sierra Vista Arizona. Philthy which means Phenomenal Hip-Hop Individual Living through His Years Has been involved with music ever since. Later in his Middle School years in Lansing Michigan Philthy had put his focuses in a whole different type of music being taught by a friend how to play the guitar Philthy had fell in love with Rock Music. Listen to artist like Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Police, Blur, The Smiths, David Bowie, Lenny Kravits, Metallica, and Black Sabbath this artist helped expand Philthy's Love and range of taste in music. For a while Philthy really had lost touch with Hip-hop being way more in to this other totally different genre of music. Phithy has said "I Like Rock music cause there..s no real fake image you have to uphold you don..t have to have the most whips and the longest chain you just got to have the realist and best music and in rock you can talk about its seems a more wide variety of music Rap Music somewhat tries to but restraints on how much you can be your self. Now at this point of Philthys career he is trying to find a way to embody this self expressing freedom in hip-hop.
Philthy..s Most Recent release is The Young Black Hope Vol. 1: Dangerous Minds. Its one of the most Creative Mix tapes released in 2006 by an independent artist. He is now working on his debut Album 31 day pass which will be one of the most creative innovative releases in 2007. He Also has recently in 2006 Joined and Help Start the Label N Da Buildin Ent. With Fellow Label Mates J.Will, J rod The Jugernaugt, And Ron Rob Who has been working on many releases that are soon to flood 2007 with a whole lot of hot tracks. He has also been in involved with meeting s at Lansing..s very own one stop shop Code of The Cutz which is the base for all the monthly meeting with fellow Michigan Artist and well know DJ. Adaverse. He was also one of the founding members of Lansing..s now disbanded group YNIC which other members were G. Rob, D-Money, and Young Cel.
He has now become somewhat of a regular whether in the Crowd or on the Stage at Lansing..s Monthly Extravaganza Respiration hosted by F.O.S. With many performances under his belt Philthy is turning into a very powerful performer.
