Influences: Javier Navarro was born in Córdoba and at age 11 began his studies with guitarist Merengue de Córdoba. In the year 1988 he formed part of the flamenco gcompany at the tablao "The Cardinal" (Córdoba). He also began to collaborate in diverse dance courses given by famous dancers Javier Latorre and Manuel Maya "Manolete". In 1992 Navarro performed in the Bienal de la Danza de Lyón, forming part of the company of Javier Latorre and in 1998 in Helsinki (Finland) forming part of the company of Rafael Sánchez "Chencho". In February of 1998 Navarro traveled to Havana (Cuba) under the artistic direction of Merengue de Córdoba. In 1999 he participated in the III concurso de Jóvenes Flamencos de Córdoba (contest of Flamenco Youths of Cordoba), obtaining the First Prize in the guitar accompaniment. He shortly after became member of a flamenco company directed by Antonio Márquez. In 2000 he toured Brazil under the artistic direction of Merengue de Córdoba, visiting several cities. During the years 2001 to 2004 he had a scholarship with the Fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco, and also worked in the following flamenco tablaos of Seville, (El Arenal , Casa de la memória de Al-Andalus, El patio Sevillano). Navarro performed in Biarritz (Francia), and in 2003 in the tablao El Cordobés (Barcelona). In 2004 he collaborated with the dancer Yoko Komatsubara, Antonio Márquez and Curro de Bormujos in Tokyo (Japan). In 2004 and 2005 he was a substitute professor at the Fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco (Seville). Navarro toured in Dax (France) and Rotterdam (Holland) with the bailaora (dancer) Carmen Mesa. In 2007 he moved to New York to tour all over America with dance companies; Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, Pasión Flamenca, Luna Flamenca Dance Company (California) and Maria BenÃtez (Santa Fe, New Mexico). He also participated in the produccion "Lore of the Miners" directed by Antonio Hidalgo in New York.
