Since 2002, I have lived in Madrid with the Romanones. Together with Joaquín Peña Taisma, I am one of the members of the band Hombre Tranquilo -that was born in Granada (’98)- and of formation “V.O.I”. With Joaquín, I started doing music for the poems of Ana Rossetti, Luis Muñoz and Luis García Montero… and to date I continue making songs. These last years we have made music for short films, have performed throughout Spain, were part of the play "A veces maburro” together with actress Marta Belenguer…we kept moving as we could. This last 2007 I have been between Puerto Rico (composing and performing with the group Mijo de la Palma) and Madrid (where Joaquín has been doing the music for the Antena 3 TV series "Física o Química"). Well… that’s what I’ve been up to … “caminante no hay camino” (meaning: walker there is no road – this is a verse from a poem of Antonio Machado which Joan Manuel Serrat made music for and sings) … I have also been lucky enough to play with musicians such as vocalists Alejandra Barella, Rockberto de Tabletom, Susana Ruiz de Celofunk, José López, Oscar Mingorance, Abel Trigo de Trigosa, Noemi Maldonado from "La Niña del Cabo" (together with Marcel Mihok, Ivan Mellen, Bruno Duque and Maylin Johoy)... collaborating with Acho Brother, Rayo and Los Trueno, Günter Gabriel, Zaguan; percussionists Jorge Palomo “compañero de fatiguitas” and Nene Vasques, the flamenco singer (“cantaor") "Juanillo", pianist Toni Romero (from Tabletom y Chambao, among others), bass player Pato Muñoz, guitarrists Nono Garcia, José Atero, Pablo Antello.... actors and actresses Manolo Caro, Pedro Santaliz, Marta Belenguer, Alejandro Naranjo, Lucía Jiménez... with whom I’ve had lots of greats moment and from which I have learnt a lot… to all of them, Thank you!.

A la vez, escuchaba a Dire Straits, The Police, Metallica, Joaquin Sabina, Leonard Cohen, The Cranberries, The Cure, The Doors, The Jackson..s 5, Los Beatles, Tracy Chapman, Genesis, Crowed House, Gun..N..Roses, Bob Marley, Nirvana, Queen, R.E.M., Silvio Rodriguez, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Elvis Presley, Franco Battiato, Michael Jackson, Sade, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Frank Zappa...y pop-rock de los 80 y 90 español, especialmente El Ultimo de la Fila, Manolo Garcia, Los Toreros Muertos, Tabletom, Radio Futura, La Cabra Mecánica, Pedro Guerra, Extremoduro, Kiko Veneno, Ketama, Pata Negra, Albert Pla...

Flamenco has been present in my life since I've had a conscience. During my childhood, I used to watch over and over a video of Pepe Habichuela… and that is when my interest for playing the guitar began. Thanks to my father and the car journey from Málaga to Jaén, I listened to Lebrijano, José Menese, La Paquera de Jerez, Lole y Manuel, Camarón –since he made his first albums- and I discovered Paco (Paco de Lucía, for those who are not used to just Paco), and after that, there was no turning back. I was lucky that my first professor (over 14 years) was Antonio Morillas, from Marbella. He played "old style" and helped me a lot to develop the flamenco touch technique and to make me perform with a clean sound. By the same time I used to listen to Dire Straits, The Police, Metallica, Joaquin Sabina, Leonard Cohen, The Cranberries, The Cure, The Doors, The Jacksons 5, The Beatles, Tracy Chapman, Genesis, Crowed House, Guns N' Roses, Bob Marley, Nirvana, Queen, R.E.M., Silvio Rodríguez, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Elvis Presley, Franco Battiato, Michael Jackson, Sade, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Frank Zappa...and 80's and 90's pop-rock, spanish rock in particular. Also El Ultimo de la Fila, Manolo García, Los Toreros Muertos, Tabletom, Radio Futura, La Cabra Mecánica, Pedro Guerra, Extremoduro, Kiko Veneno, Ketama, Pata Negra, Albert Pla... After that, I started discovering bossa nova, la copla, salsa –during my stay in Puerto Rico- (Ismael Rivera, Héctor Lavoe, La Sonora Ponceña, El Gran Combo, Willie Colón, La Zodiac, Raphy Leavitt y La Selecta, Panamá's singer Ruben Blades...), Ray Barretto, Stevie Wonder (he's from another planet), Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Jamiroquai, Serrat, K..s Choice, Radiohead, R.A.T.M., Smashing Pumpkins, jazz (and harmony...)...and this last years especially Xaver Fisher Trío, Concha Buika, Cesárea Evora, Ass Trío, Tower of Power, Michel Camilo, Ximo Tebar, Chico Cesar, Bola de Nieve, Djavan, Jorge Drexler... In terms of flamenco guitar players... other than Paco, I love Vicente Amigo, Pepe Habichuela, Diego del Gastor, Tomatito, Manolo Sanlucar, el Niño Josele... guitarrist Nono Garcia seems to me ahead of his time (a flamenco learning jazz in the 80's...), with a personal blues-jazz style but flamenquísimo (very flamenco!).. I also like George Benson, Johnny Winter. Mark Knopfler (who plays without pick) is a great influence to me and I dare to include Silvio Rodríguez as a guitarrist (even if he assures he is not a musician, but a poet… well!)
