Hey everyone my name is Dwight Steyn, we began this organization to help those who have been told "no", "you can't" or "that's impossible" when pursuing their dreams. This resource isn't just for the "handicapped" or "disabled". It is for everyone, the elderly, young, disabled, handicapped, men, women, everyone. So in the beginning I am concentrating on skydiving. I welcome all other inquires but skydiving will be the focus to start out.
Dwight Steyn, the founder of Handi-Capable International, lost his left leg below the knee in a roll-over car accident. Once at the hospital the doctor's found a blood clot in his head which caused complications and a term of mortality in the operating room. This was, according to the doctors, going to cause many extreme physical and mental problems and inabilities. The doctors were wrong. Once Dwight was released from the hospital and received his prosthetic leg he started riding bareback bucking horses in the rodeo and all 3 years qualified for National Finals and place in the top 20 each time. He has climbed several of Colorado's 14,000 foot peaks and actively scuba dives, skydives, trains horses, and obtained his private pilot's license. He couldn't have done any of it without the support of friends and family. He couldn't have done it without taking the first step.
We realize there are many people out there that have been held down by their environment. Whether they are friends, family, or themselves that hold them down, we here at Handi-Capable want to be the friends and family that lift you up. We want to be your family and help you through the struggles and road blocks that are put in front of you no matter where they come from. We know, better than most what it is like to have your dreams crushed by those who say no. But we also know how to help you achieve and rekindle those dreams. Remember - Nothing is impossible, the impossible just takes longer.
