The cat didn't run away from home. All is well. I am interested in unusual gifted people and their work. Strange phenomena. Interpreting dreams. Collecting musical instruments. Drinking coffee. Storms. Costume parties. Talking. Flamingoes. I've been known to go-go dance on more than one occasion (one of the myriad of Sounds of Seduction's girls). I've visited Cuba, England, Scotland... also Berlin, Copenhagen, Auckland, Los Angeles. The more I travel the more there is to discover, I like that.
Freaks, geeks, flamingo loving tiki heads (just the heads).
Lounge to noise, world to outsider. A few examples... the Mu Mesons, Jarboe, Swans, Diamanda Galas, Laurie Anderson, Barry Adamson, Eliert Pilam, Transglobal Underground... Parliament, Dead Voices on Air, the lovely (Sir) Lustmord, Irene Moon, Evolution Control Committee, Blind Boys from Alabama, lounge compilations, the Necks, Einsturnzende Neubauten, Jim Thurlwell... this is just scratching the surface..... Unfortunately I can't muster any feelings for reggae or r&b - no disrespect, it's just not who I am.
Cult films, b-grade horror, monster movies, anything with zombies or aliens. Most Studio Ghibli stuff.
Autopsies for beginners.
My encyclopaedia of musical instruments. Fortean Times magazine. Anything that pulls you in so much you don't notice time pass. Oh and Jack Sergeant - I'll have to read your damn books some day, Jack!! Where's the one on trepanation?
I don't worship anyone. I admire and respect Jarboe, Diamanda Galas and Laurie Anderson as female role models in a performance/musical sense...
