Motorflower was conceived and born May 1997.
A band that spans a spectrum of influences that range from Led Zeppelin to The Foo Fighters to Stevie Ray Vaughn, Motorflower is a deliberate hard playing four piece combo with pop sensibility. All four members - Nathan Jay Moody (Guitars, lead vocals), John Paul (Bass guitar), Steven Fulton (Guitars, Mandolin, keys, backing vocals), and Stephen Hall (Drums, backing vocals) are hard laboring workers by day and volume abusing musicians by night. When day gigs are required, the last sentence still applies.
The two Steves have known and played together for a long time opening for such acts as the Smithereens, Los Lobos, Widespread Panic and the Beat Farmers to name a few. Steve Fulton has opened as a solo act for Tori Amos and the Wallflowers just by himself and his acoustic guitar. Besides the half dozen albums they recorded with each other, both have completed various projects outside of their collaboration over the years. While John Paul has been with the band for over a decade, Nathan Jay Moody is the band’s newest addition, (September, 2007).
All members are active in the creative process of Motorflower. Motorflower may just be primarily guitars, bass, and drums, but they are more than proficient on other instruments as well. For instance, Steven Fulton, (acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, piano, wurlitzer, Hammond B3 organ). Stephen Hall, (Guitar)... Did we already say he plays drums?
