About Me

Born and raised in a state bordered by New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania, the members of MORNING ABROAD, from Wilmington, Delaware began their musical careers in one of the largest breeding grounds for new musical talent.
In 2003, under the tutelage and watchful eye of their musical parents, drummer Louis Matos younger brother, guitarist Nick Matos completed development of their technical and formal instructions and created MORNING ABROAD. Inspiration came from seeing performances by underground bands on tour who made Wilmington, DE a regular stop on their schedules.
[Our influences spanned our musical parents to many of top rock bands such as THRICE, COHEED & CAMBRIA and BOYS NIGHT OUT. ]
With members coming and going, 2004 proved the search was complete when lead guitarist Andy Gotschall along with his brother bassist Jake Gotschall were added, bringing unique guitar techniques and phat riffs that gave the band infectiuos grooves that produced the band's own special sound.
Since then, MORNING ABROAD has shared the stage with national touring bands such as HALIFAX, FEAR BEFORE THE MARCH OF FLAMES, CARTEL, BEFORE TODAY and many more.
In 2006, MORNING ABROAD was chosen among 11,500 bands nationwide to participate in the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands 10 during The Warped Tour '06, held at the Tweeter Center, Philadelphia, Pa.
