MY AMERICA (ON TOUR NOW!)

STONE AGE: 07/08/2008 A.D.

About Me

This is MY AMERICA IS WATCHING TIGERS DIE. This is what we do. We are largely influenced by life/death and volume. We play a refreshing brand of aggressive music that is criminally underated.

For booking information message us ON HERE. We are always trying to get to new places and meet new people, so as long as you help us out with gas money, and possibly a floor to sleep on, we would love to play your show

If the above link for the CDEP doesn't work on your browser jam HERE .

Influences:

Sounds Like: "MAIWTD is musically similar to a stripped down Breather Resist with a touch of Refused thrown into the mix at times. The tracks are driven by the omnipresent gritty bass lines, leaving the sole guitar to often layer on syncopated single note riffs and basic, but catchy melodies. While many bands focus on trying to pack in as many notes as possible to achieve that chaotic sound, MAIWTD focuses on varying the rhythm structures for their brand of hardcore. The vocalist sticks to a high-pitched scream, which is perfectly appropriate for the style of music, and since the disc is over in around 26 minutes, it doesn't have the chance to become annoyingly monotonous."

"MY AMERICA IS WATCHING TIGERS DIE, 'Narratives' I recall receiving this band's demo awhile back and I was pleasantly pleased with it in almost a sort of guilty way. It was extremely apparent of how much an influence Breather Resist was to them, as well as some of the heavier breakdown style of older Every Time I Die. And on their debut full-length that influence is still worn like a badge on their sleeve. Maybe some will not to be too into these comparisons, but I'll state that this band does it well. They use some mathy-hardcore parts, but in a clever way that sounds simple and clunky on the surface, but is doing some cool stuff underneath. Bizarre guitar howls, delays, and effects are employed carefully, mindful to not over-saturate a song. Between almost every song are slight interludes, further adding murk and mystery to these overall loud and aggressive, yet left-of-center songs. Adding these elements definitely keeps this group from being run-of-the-mill moshcore, and it's certainly apparent that it is their goal to be heavy, but inventive at the same time (even if the influences are clear). The last song on this cd may be their most original, the somewhat epic feel of, "Dirge On the Sea/ Death On the Wings", a two-parter about a captain going down with his ship and the crew's plans for mutiny set to the beat of brooding and swaying turbulence followed by cacophonous rage. Terrible band name aside, this is a good debut and a mark of things to come." (Emerald Moon Records, www.emeraldmoonrecords.com)
