About Me

Mike is a keyboardist, composer, arranger and teacher. As a pianist, Esneault has performed and/or recorded with artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Terence Blanchard, Nicholas Peyton, Pete Fountain, Donald Harrison, Marlon Jordan, Brian Blade, Frank Morgan, Alvin Batiste, Wes Anderson as well as many others. He has performed at such venues as The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Chicago Jazz Festival, as well as international festivals in Switzerland, Brazil and more. Mike is currently touring with jazz vocalist Stephanie Jordan serving as her musical director/pianist/arranger. For motion pictures he has worked closely with film composer Terence Blanchard on projects such as "Original Sin" starring Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie, "Caveman's Valentine" with Samuel Jackson and "People I Know", starring Al Pacino. Mike also arranged music for Terence's "Billie on Broadway" which has been performed at Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. In addition, Esneault has worked on cd projects with several orchestras including the Prague Symphony Orchestra and has also established a prolific career as a composer/arranger for television and radio. Mike has composed music for many clients including McDonald's, Exxon, Blue Cross Blue Shield, La Lottery, US Agencies and Eatel and has also composed the score for numerous documentaries including the six part series "Louisiana: A History", which featured the narration of actress Lynn Whitfield. Other documentaries include “Making Waves: Louisiana’s Radio Story" featuring John Larroquette and "Washing Away" which won the Edward R. Murrow Award. Mike currently makes him home in Louisiana where he and his wife are raising three boys. He is also currently on staff with the Gifted and Talented Program in Baton Rouge where he works with gifted young musicians.
