About Me

Always a little left of center I can recall when I was a DJ @ WLRA 88.1 Lewis University in 1987. While flipping through the stacks of LP's looking for what was hot at the moment on the request line, I believe The Deele "Two Occassions", I came across Weather Report's Heavy Weather album (Havona!!) and Wynton Marsalis's Black Codes jazz recording. I was hooked! At the time I was rocking a pink guitar and Billy Idol posters so my radio name was B.I.F (Billy Idol Freak) but I was still much the R&B dude. Strangely enough I think most of the jazz albums @ WLRA disappeared upon me transfering to Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. Upon my arrival I ran across some kats that really changed how I listened and viewed the art of music. Not having any idea what a quarter note or a scale was I was convinced to join Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity by my vocalist roommate. I sucked!!!! Bad! I remember telling the members that I was a guitarist, but they learned the truth during auditions. I guess they felt sorry for me because I was selected to pledge. In those several months of pledging I was able to come in contact with some of the coolest musicians on the planet, some of which have been added to my site. I left Southern University, an eternal worm, and headed back north to Illinois State University where I graduated in 1992. Over the past several years I've been shedding on my newly found love for the double bass and soon the benefits of this labor will be on display. Presently, I am in the process of building a music studio in my house and posting my music for you. I hope you find the wide array of tracks spanning from jazz to rock to hip/hop interesting and different. God Bless. Myspace Layouts
